I'm adding Dave Cole to my list of knitting heroes. I discovered him this morning and have decided he's a genius. He's mixing pop art and knitting into some amazing creations with a side of social consciousness. (The first picture is a link to his website.)

He masterminded the knitting of this huge American flag using cranes and 20ft. needles.

This is a dress he knitted out of strips of money.

A teddy bear knit out of lead.

This is my personal favorite. It's a little girls dress knit from strips of Kevlar from Persian Gulf bulletproof vests.

A blanket knit with loaded shotguns.

Finally a giant teddy bear made from fiberglass insulation. Fascinating stuff!
Thanks for reading.

Umm yeah, I would say he should rank right up there. I've never seen anything like these items, and quite frankly didn't know that a lot of the media/materials he used was even possible, but they look very nice.
Kudos to him, he truly is a genius!!! Thanks for sharing.

um WHOA & WOW!
