I have been doing some major baby knitting lately with lots more to come. Big friends and family baby boom happening around here. Anyway, I wanted to share two of the projects I've finished so far. They're both small, as most of my time has been spent on my first baby blanket. I'm over halfway done but I feel like it's taken FOREVER. I'm really just not patient enough for big projects yet.
Moving on, here's what I've accomplished so far.

Bear ear hat. Cute, cute, cute. I had some trouble with the ears but think I've figured it out now for future projects. This hat was quick and fun, I'll be making it again soon.

And, Yes that is a Little People Silo I'm modeling it on. I did not have anything else the approximate size of a baby's head around the house.

I'm so in love with these booties. They are super fast to knit and remind me of little kimonos for baby feet. I have no idea who will be receiving them yet, but I couldn't resist trying out this pattern. Whoever wrote it is a genius. It's so simple. It's one of those things like q-tips of something, where you see it and think, "Wow, I really should have thought of that. I could be a millionaire right now."

Only problem is I think they're a little small even for newborn feet. Or at least they would have been for Levi, but maybe he had abnormally large feet. When I make them again I'm planning to make them a little longer.
That's it for now, but I named this part 1 because there will be much more baby knitting to come. I just hope I can keep up with the pregnant people. I love giving something homemade for new baby's. Truth be told, I'm sure I enjoy the gifting of these much more then the moms-to-be enjoy the receiving, but they're gracious and it makes me happy so how cares, right?
Thanks for reading.

um, I enjoy the receiving...not that I'm hinting or anything! :) love the hat and booties both...too cute!
but I'm sure I'll feel how you're feeling when I start giving out sewing projects...
I love, love, LOVE the little hat! It is just gorgeous, and not to brag or anything, but I am sure it will be absolutely stunning against my little girl's dark skin! :) Have I mentioned I love purple?! I had a friend over the other day and she loved the little hat so much she had to put it on her little baby to show me how cute it is going to be on! :) Oh, and btw, the darling little elephant is now perched around the base of a lamp on my baby's dresser, awaiting her arrival. Can't wait to blog more 'room' pictures! Thank you, your labor of love is very much appreciated.
