Tennis and Life

I've been enjoying watching the Australian Open all week and was thinking about how much I like tennis and how I think it applies to life. (That's right be scared I'm going to get philosophical on you.)

I love that you don't get a coach on the side lines, you have to be self-reliant. You have to pump yourself up.
If you don't think you can win you never will. You have to be confident, but not to confident or you'll get caught slacking.

You have to pay for making stupid decisions, immediately.

You have to be mentally tough. You can't get down on yourself about those stupid decisions, have to move on and keep the faith.

Finally, my very favorite way that tennis is like life; it ain't over till it's over. I love that until the very last point there is always a chance things could turn around. Oh, you can be down, but until it's over you're not out. Or, you can be up and think you have it in the bag, but the next point everything can change. There is always time and opportunities to turn it around.
Thanks for reading.

Very thought-provoking! And I love the pics--so retro! My favorite part was about not having a coach on the sidelines, but having to pump self up.
