So, I hate to be boastful but I'm the mother of a 2 year old genius. Just a few examples for your Thur.
My son mostly knows his left and right. I say mostly because he still gets it confused sometimes, but 3 out of 4 times he gets it right. I'm working on his Mensa application tonight.
He also said to Steve the other night: "I'm just getting these bubbles out a here." On a language sample that would score as a 7 word sentence. SEVEN. Most kids talk in sentences/phrases that are equal to their age.
He has also figured out this whole potty training thing. Not in a, I'm out of diapers and use the potty sort of way, but in a, I've figured out how to work the potty training system sort of way. We've been rewarding him with Skittles when he successfully goes to the bathroom. (If you think this is terrible, I don't really want to hear it I'm sticking with what works.) Anyway, so my little Einstein will pee just enough to earn skittles, tell you so, then hold it until you put his diaper back on. If you want him to finish on the potty you have to tell him so and he will begrudgingly pee more.
I'm scared, he's 2 and he's already out smarting me. How am I going to keep up with him once he's say 5 or (heaven help me) 16?
Sorry to bore you with my bragging, but I can't help it I'm a very proud mommy.

I'd brag about boy genius, too. We need to get them together so Natalee can pick up some of his 7 word sentences. Heck, I'd be THRILLED with a one word utterance besides, "uh."
Well, I do have to say I think it's terrible to reward a kid with Skittles--what are you doing? Saving the GOOD CHOCOLATE for yourself?! LOL
(Sure hope you took that in the goofy way I meant it--I don't like Skittles--give me chocolate every time--we used M&M's with the last two! giggling)
