Halloweens Past

I've been thinking all day about some of my favorite Halloween memories. Decided I'd share them and hopefully hear a few of yours.

My favorite thing about Halloween when I was a kid was going around to all of my relatives houses. Every year we would have to make a trip through the countryside to see all the grandma's before finally ending up at the Buckallew's to do our in town trick or treating. I loved all the home made treats we got and the big fuss that got made about our stopping by. My favorite were popcorn balls Meme (my great-grandma) always made. They were delicious and huge. I think it's neat that Levi's trick or treating is the same way. We make a huge circle visiting grandparents, aunts and uncles, and friends. It's very special for him.

Other favorite memories:
  • Casey dressing up as a California raisin. My mom made the costume out of trash bag, black pants, and sunglasses. He looked hilarious. There are pictures but unfortunately I don't have possession of them.
  • My dad dressing up as a clown, complete with rubber chicken. (Which by the way, he still has.)
  • My bride's costume. We never got store bought costumes, but this year I must have been particularly whiney because I talked my mom into a store bought bride costume. It was like a plastic bride poncho with hard plastic mask (the kind held on with a very thin piece of elastic). I was so proud of it.
  • Curtis drinking with a pumpkin on his head, through a very long straw. I would have been so scared of him if I was a little kid.

I could think of a lot more but I won't bore you.

Happy Halloween everybody!! Please share your favorite Halloween memories I'd love to hear them.

Thanks for reading.

Sorry Jenn. I don't have a picture of that. Although I would dearly love one.
