Superstar!

I'm about to tell you all something completely dorky about myself. As much as it pains me to ruin my incredibly cool image. (No? No one thinks that about me? Well, fine confirm my dorkiness then.)

Here it is:
I LOVE

I'm not even kidding. Hy-Vee's website makes me feel like a grocery shopping superstar. It's awesome, so awesome in fact that I would feel like I was holding out on you if I didn't share. Every Wed. when the new weekly ad comes out I make my list online. You can flip through the ad on their website and just click on things to add them to your shopping list. If what you click on has a coupon they will print the coupon with your list. You can manage your list and change quantities and add things that are not in the ad, or you can go to Browse the Aisles and look things up by the department they are in and add them to your list. The nice thing about the list you print is they categorize it for you, so when you send your husband to do the shopping it's easier for him to find things. I'm telling you, if you shop their flier you can get some really good deals. Last week for example I got Prego Spaghetti Sauce (My personal favorite, which we never buy b/c it's $2.48 and I just can't justify paying that.) for $.99! (I told you I was dorky. If you could have seen how excited I was to buy my 99 cent Prego none of you would ever talk to me again.)
They also have a recipe center where you can find recipes based on the ingredient you have to use. I haven't used this very much but think it's a great idea for when I have something I need to get rid of or they have an ingredient on sale that I want to use, but can't think of a recipe for.

Okay, so now that I've gushed about them everyone check it out. Their logo is a link to their website. I hope that someone can use it. I suppose, even if no one ever does I feel better because at least I tried to share. That's what's really important after all, not that you all save money and I share a useful tip, but that I feel better about myself.
Happy Shopping!
Thanks for reading!

I've shopped their flier and noticed the list thing but haven't used it...I seem to stay with Wal-mart because of prices, but if I would take advantage of Hy-Vee's sales it would probably benefit me. I do like shopping there because when I'm getting my milk, I'm not also thinking about getting something clear across the store...thanks for sharing your dirty little secret!

Thanks for sharing. We LOVED Hy-Vee for Natalee's allergy shopping and got hooked on them but didn't use the flier and stuff to the full potential. I always appreciate a tip to help but cost!

I won't lie Corin, I use the list thing and wait every week for the ad to come out. That's the main reason I go to Hy-Vee. I just couldn't leave you hanging alone in the dorkiness. And I feel much better about not being alone!

Ha, ha, you crack me up! What a great idea--thanks for sharing! I know I should do better about shopping ads, but I'm lazy and it's just easier to shop Aldi, even though I know the quality isn't always as good (but a lot of stuff is fine!)

Incidentally, I grew up in Chariton, IA "home of Hy-Vee. Yeah, big deal, right? :) (or maybe it will make you think *I* am really cool! giggle)
