I added this hat to my queue and figured I would just go ahead and make it and find a home for it later. I was planning to start it once I finished all of my baby knitting. (Which is never ending by the way. As soon as I think I'm finished I find out someone new is pregnant. I'm not complaining, just commenting, I have very fertile friends apparently.) Then I got asked to make a couple as photo props and was thrilled to have a reason to make them.
So, without further ado:

The pattern was pretty simple, but as you get fewer and fewer stitches toward the top it does get a little tight to work on. This was also my first time making Pompoms. I was a little nervous about them, I didn't want wimpy poms I wanted full, fluffy poms. I think they turned out pretty good, but I'll make them even a little fluffier in the future. I used the MADE Pompom tutorial found here for my poms. My tip if anyone decides to make them is, know when to say when. It's tempting to just keep trimming and trimming until your down to nothing. At some point you just have to decide it will never be perfectly even and stop.
Rest assured, if the hats actually make it into professional pictures I'll share a link for everyone to see.
Thanks for reading.

so cute! if ever you just need to knit a little hat you can always donate them to NICU's in hospitals...just a thought!
I've thought about this Jenn, but I don't feel a hospital is the right place for my charity knitting. People who donate to hospitals drop off boxes of hats. I would only be able to supply one at a time. How do you decide who gets the one nice knitted hat? I have a plan for charity knitting but haven't had time to execute it yet. Someday if I actually get to do it I'll share what it is.
I am so excited to get to use these! They are more adorable than I ever expected! Thank you so much Corin!

OH! MY! GOODNESS!! I am in love with that pink hat!! I think I need a little baby girl to go with that hat! giggle
Another idea for your knitting is Lifeline--they have baby items that prospective mothers "earn" by attending parenting classes. Seems a great way to help at-risk pregnancies for those who choose to parent their babies.
Shonya- That's a good idea. I've donated things to Lifeline before, but they were necessity type items. I hadn't thought of taking knit things there. Thanks.
