Big Kids!

The kids are growing at a fast and furious pace and I figured I better commemorate some of their achievements before I forget what this stage of our lives was like.
I can proudly say that Levi is officially potty trained. It was a long hard road but we made it. He even slept in big boy underwear last night! What a battle of wills that was, I don't think for a second that we (Steve and I) won either. I think Levi just decided he was ready.
He has also been asking to color almost everyday lately. This is a very exciting development for me because he use to hate coloring and only did it when forced. I was very worried about what that meant for school and pencil control and all that. Now he has finally moved from just continuous scribbling to making some shapes and trying to color near the lines so that the picture looks like something instead of one big scribble.
His vocabulary continues to amaze me. Steve and I are always saying to one another, What three year old says that? He's so funny with the stories he tells and things he comes up with.

Ellie is moving up to eating a few finger foods. She LOVES arrowroot cookies. I tried them and I don't really get what her attachment to them is but it makes her happy. I gave her a bite of chocolate pudding the other day too and she was instantly in love. She cried when I refused to give her more. She usually cries when she hears you scrapping the bottom of her baby food container and throws an absolute fit when you take her bib off.
She is crawling on all fours now for brief periods of time, usually until she decides she needs to move faster. She can cross a room in no time flat and has an uncanny ability to find the one thing in the room you don't want her to play with. Best of all though she smiles ALL the time.
I told Steve this morning that while being a mommy is much harder then I ever could have imagined; it's also way way more fun then I ever thought it would be. I had no idea kids were so entertaining and funny. We're loving every minute of it.
Thanks for reading.

Aww, they are so cute & getting so big!

That said, you are so right, kids grow so fast and are so much fun. I couldn't agree with you more, being a mom is definitely harder than I thought it would be (mainly because of the fact that my time is not my own anymore & sometimes there just doesn't seem to be enough time to get everything done), but I wouldn't trade a minute of it either.

I enjoyed the update & here's to all the future good times/memories.

And what precious kids you have! I love the update and am jealous of Ellie's eating abilities and interest. I'll be sending Xabe over for lessons...
