Every Boy Needs a Pirate Ship

I have long neglected a post devoted to the awesome play set that Steve build for the kids this summer. He finished it shortly before Eliana was born and we have been enjoying it all summer. I finally got around to taking pictures of it over the weekend.

Impressive huh! Steve did such a great job leveling it on our very uneven yard. It's very sturdy, I know the kids are going to get a lot of use out of it.
Ellie has already started to enjoy it.

Levi can use the big swings, but really prefers to use the infant one and be pushed. Can't say as I blame him.
For his pirate party we deemed the play set his pirate ship and he has been playing with it as such ever since. It's funny to me how much he likes pirates and gets a kick out of pretending all thing pertain to pirates.
Here he is on his ship. Notice the Beware of Pirates sign, it's leftover from his party.
His pirate flag that my mom made for him. We take this in at night, it's very important to Levi to know where it is at all times.
We also tricked his ship out with a steering wheel and bell. The bell was Steve's idea. In the Navy when someone important comes on or off the ship you ding the bell to let everyone know. Levi, of course, loves this.
A parting shot for you. I just couldn't resist sharing this face. The first of many times, I'm sure, where my son looks at me like I'm an idiot. I swear despite this face he really loves his play set.
Thanks for reading.

Sept 19th is National "Talk like a Pirate Day". I'm not kidding. So look it up on the internet and work on your pirate phrases. Aargh!

I'll just take this moment to say...Your welcome for introducing you 2. LOL! Pretty awesome playset and an even more awesome Dad to take the time and energy to build it. I see many, many hours of fun to be had here. :)

Looks to me like daddy did an awesome job. All the kids should have a ball on a setup like that.

I have to say it is quite a cool playset and Levi was certainly proud of his pirate ship at his birthday party. You and Steve are awesome parents and Levi and Ellie are certainly lucky.
