PSA

Last May when our weather radio went off we hesitated to respond. There is always that little part of you that thinks "yeah right". But thankfully we did take our kids (Levi and Winnie) and get in our crawl space. Less then 5 minutes later the tornado crossed Hwy 6 less then a mile from our house. Our property was completely untouched but it was a close enough call for me.

I heard on the news yesterday that there were 3 tornadoes in Arkansas, the day before that there was one in Oklahoma. I decided it was time to encourage all of you to get a weather radio. I honestly feel they are invaluable and they save lives.

We got ours because we don't get local TV stations and rarely listen to the radio. The great thing about a weather radio is they're on all the time. You don't have to tune in or turn it on, if there is a warning out for your area they go off. They are only about $30 and could save your life. Please think about getting one if you haven't already.

I warned you with the title this was a PSA, so think I'm dorky if you must but you may thank me one day.

Thanks for reading.

actually i'm glad you reminded me...last year when all the tornadoes happened i had to carry mike's scanner downstairs and plug it in in the basement to listen to what was happening. heaven forbid my electricity would have gone off!
