Payback's a B*%$&!

That's right I said it.
My mom loves to tell about how I didn't sleep through the night until I was 3. I still believe that's just when I quite waking her up, but anyway. She tells people how awful I was as a sleeper. I don't doubt her for a second, I'm still an awful sleeper. I feared greatly while pregnant the first time that my poor children would suffer the same fate. We've been immensely blessed with Levi, who has slept through the night since he was 2 months old with the exception of when he's sick. I was so grateful that he didn't inherit this particular trait from me. He sleeps rather fitfully but has always slept through the night.
That is until this cursed time change occurred. Ever since then we have not been able to get him to sleep. He'll lay in bed for about an hour/hour and a half, talking to himself and having a good ol' time before finally drifting off. Once he finally does get to sleep he wakes up every couple of hours. When he wakes up he has some odd request that he will not go back to sleep unless you at least respond to. Let me paint a picture for you:
You're sleeping peacefully when all of a sudden you hear - "I need my fishing pole." You ignore this request hoping the little voice will go away, then louder - "I need my fishing pole." Again you pull the covers over your head and try and ignore the little voice. "I NEED MY FISHING POLE" You sit up and scream NO loud enough to be heard across the house. All is quite you return to your restful night sleep. (I mentioned I don't sleep very well, every time he wakes me up it takes me about an hour to get back to sleep.)
2 hours later. "Good night Mommy. Sleep Tight." Again you ignore this, surely he'll just drift back off. "I SAID SLEEP TIGHT TO YOU." You stumble to his room, say good night, and cover him back up.
The pattern repeats until your alarm goes off in the morning.
Is it wrong that I take joy in getting the little grumpy butt up in the morning after this? He throws a fit when you wake him about how sleepy he and how he wants to sleep more. This morning he refused to let Steve change his diaper. Every time Steve would undo the tab Levi would reach down and reattach it.
I really do feel bad for having done this to my mom. I've learned my lesson God. Now PLEASE let my son start sleeping again.
Hope this makes sense I'm slightly sleep deprived.
Thanks for reading.

I'm laughing, but only because someday I know you'll look back and laugh, too. Maybe? Here's hoping tonight is peaceful for you!...can you say Dimetap?

I am, of course, totally kidding about the Dimetap...I would never drug my baby!

We could so easily see Jaxson doing that too. He is often a terrible sleeper. Thanks for the laugh!
