Sadie Hawkins Day Warning

Tomorrow is Sadie Hawkins Day. To commemorate this day I thought I would share a fairly embarrassing story about myself. Because hey, what good is an embarrassing story if you can't laugh at it later, right?

Now, of course, I am a happily married woman, but back in my single days I had absolutely no problem asking guys out. I'm not very good at waiting and always figured the worst that could happen was they would say no.

The name of said boy will be omitted for my own embarrassment sake. I mean you never know who might read this. Just let me say, I'm pretty sure none of you know him.

One day while watching my one channel at my apartment I saw a commercial for a movie that I really wanted to see. I quickly decided that it was a perfect opportunity to ask out a certain boy who had been hanging out with a group of mutual friends lately. I drove straight to his apartment, knocked on his door, stepped into his kitchen, and asked him to the movies. As I finish my little spiel a girl walk around the corner of the kitchen. Slightly taken aback (I knew for a fact that this boy was single, not dating, single) I took a moment to assess the situation. Yep, table, candles, dinner on the stove, girl in the doorway. That's right, I asked out a boy while he was on a date. God bless this wonderful boy (much faster thinker then I am) he said, "Sure we could ALL do that sometime." I was like yeah, call me and I'll set something up with (mutual friends). Exit stage left. Sat down in my car and slapped myself in the forehead.

So, just a fair warning to all the single ladies out there, If your going to ask a boy out just make sure he's not on a date first.
Thanks for reading.

LOL! I asked Alan out first, he said no (because it was planting season and he had to plant corn), and he never fails to tell everyone. sigh :)
