There is just something different about friends from high school. For me (at least) these friends are people that I've known since I was about 5. There is just something comforting about people who have known you for so long. They share so much history, they have seen me embarrass myself, seen the days when I thought I was cool, mended my broken heart, been there through some of my stupider decisions, and even a few smart ones. I don't worry so much about what they think of me anymore, because I figure they've made up there minds about me long ago. I know that we can have differing opinions and still be friends. We can fight and make up and still always managed to stay connected. I love these friends. It's funny to me how amazingly fated life seems sometimes. I can't imagine life without them, but had I gone to a different school I never would have met them. I feel blessed to have them. They connect me to my past, make me feel like high school was just yesterday.
