I Missed It

I'm so sorry to tell you all that Tuesday was Teacher's Day and I missed it. Several of the people who read my blog are teachers and I feel that I have failed them. So I would like to send out a belated Thank you to all the teachers out there.

I want to Thank You for all my fancy book learning. I have had some stupendous teachers in my life and I am thankful to all of them. I owe much of who I am today to these fabulous people who are grossly underpaid and so often overlooked. I would like to specifically thank some of the teachers who have left a permanent impression on me.

Mrs. Robinson (Kindergarten) for painstakingly teaching me her name every time I forgot it. And for never being to strict on a little girl who talked to much and got her name on the board almost everyday.
Mrs. Kenny (2nd Grade) for putting up with a particularly bad year in school for me. I had to have my homework signed by my parents. But you never made me feel like I was a bad or slow kid.
Mrs. Erwin (3rd Grade) for helping me with my reading so I could fill up my soda bottle.
Mrs. Lawrence (4th Grade/jr. cheerleading coach) for never getting annoyed at my constant long division questions. (I'm still pretty sure there is a way around long division. I just haven't figured it out yet.) And for being a great coach who only let us shake our butts if we could do it in unison.
Mrs. Rowland (Jr. High English) for always finding new and interesting ways to teach things.
Mr. Hart (High School Math) for teaching in a way that made total sense to me and for letting us have a little fun too.
Miss Kline (Comm. Dis.) for your astounding ability to think like a child and show us that perspective.
If your a teacher Thank You. You're some of the most patient and compassionate people I know. I'm sorry I'm a few days late with your post.
If your not a teacher you should really thank them next time you run into one.
Thanks for reading.
